Supporting Our Community
Wallaby Indigenous Corporation provides culturally safe programs, outreach, advocacy, referrals and practical support for Aboriginal people, families and communities.
Based in Armidale, our work responds to community needs across the New England region, with mobile outreach extending further through Walkabout Aunty.
We work alongside people rather than simply referring them on, helping individuals and families connect with services, strengthen wellbeing and navigate their journey with dignity and choice.
Closing the Gap
Wallaby Indigenous Corporation believes Closing the Gap requires strong and respectful partnerships between Aboriginal communities and the mainstream services, businesses and organisations that work with our people.
Our role is to help build stronger connections with health services, housing providers, police, government agencies, non-Indigenous businesses, and other service providers so that Aboriginal people receive services that are more culturally informed, responsive and effective.
By working together, we can improve communication, strengthen referral pathways, share knowledge and build a greater understanding of the needs, experiences and strengths of Aboriginal people and communities.
Wallaby Indigenous Corporation can also support the development of partnerships based on good governance, accountability and cultural understanding, ensuring Aboriginal voices are included in planning, decision-making and the delivery of services.
Closing the Gap is a shared responsibility. Real progress requires Aboriginal communities and the wider service system to work together, learn from each other and build relationships that lead to better outcomes for our people,
Community Programs
Wallaby Indigenous Corporation delivers community-led programs that support health, wellbeing, cultural connection, education, family strengthening and community participation.
Programs may incllude workshops, information sessions, cultural activities, wellbeing initiatives and community events, developed in response to identified community needs.
We work with community members, service provides and partner organisations to create programs that are culturally safe, practical and accessible.

Where appropriate, Walkabout Aunty can provide mobile outreach to help people access support when travelling to a service is difficult.
